Anna Friesen

For a few years now, I've made a year-long project called the unPlanner, inspired by The Documented Life Project ladies, also named Art to the 5th. And, in 2018, I'm doing it again. I make my own calendar, and I add in lots of bits and bobs from the daily ephemera I collect, happy mail, mail art I purchase and more.

Check out this video tutorial as Design Team member Anna Friesen creates this beautiful UnPlanner as her project. Anna takes you step by step through creating this UnPlanner spread for which is perfect for organising all of your arty adventures. She uses Art Pops™ and Paperbag Studios Stamps. @robenmarie @annawho #robenmarie #robenmariedesignteam #paperbagstudios #artpops #mixedmedia #diy

For this design team project, I am demonstrating the making of some of my pages using Roben-Marie's fabulous Art Pops™ and her stamps!

I just adore the funky look of the Woodland Collection, adding such a fun look to my pages, and the stamps are the perfect accompaniment to the art on the cards and stickers. YUM YUM!

I filmed a lot more of my unPlanner, including the monthly tabs as seen in the examples, but the video for today is limited to the calendar and the art on the front flap. I hope to add the rest of the video to my own YouTube channel, Artful Stories.

have fun creating your own unplanner!

Going Deeper...

Is there an aspect of mixed-media art that you always avoid?

Drawing faces. I just adore the look they give projects, but my own expectations of what I want mine to look like get in the way.

What creative tool/supply are you obsessed with?

I keep reaching for my brayer to add color to my backgrounds I love the loose, grungy look it gives my work.
