100 Day Project Weeks 10 & 11: Floral Bits & Home Decor Ideas
Weeks 10 & 11 Recap
Weeks 10 and 11 of my 100 Days of Making are in the books, and if I had to describe the vibe in one word, it would be: seasonal.
Not just in subject matter, though you’ll definitely spot a strong floral and spring theme in this round of EmbellishBits—but also in mood. These weeks felt like that moment when the bloom starts to peak and you feel a nudge toward something new... but you’re not quite sure what yet. 🌸
I’ve noticed a pattern in my making—flowers, soft colors, and lots of stitching. It wasn’t something I planned, but it kept showing up. And I leaned into it, letting these little stitched pieces reflect the season around me.
What Weeks 10 & 11 Looked Like
I’ve now passed the halfway point in this project, and while I’m still enjoying the process, I’ve also felt a bit of that mid-project itch. You know the one where you're still committed, but part of you is already dreaming of trying something new?
Still, I showed up. Some days more inspired than others, but I kept going.
These two weeks were filled with:
🌸 Florals and spring-inspired textures
🎨 Repurposing older projects, sketches and paintings into my Bits
💭 Considering what might come next for me and I’m thinking it might involve my sketchbook and watercolors
It’s the kind of stretch that doesn’t always feel exciting in the moment, but looking back I can see the gentle rhythm forming. And that feels like progress.
Week Ten
Ways to Use Your Embellish Bits– Home Décor Edition
This week, I’m sharing ideas for bringing your Bits into your home, because small doesn’t mean subtle, and art belongs everywhere.
Here are some fresh and creative ways to decorate with your EmbellishBits or other similar mixed media art:
Mini Hoop Art
Stretch fabric-backed Embellish Bits into tiny embroidery hoops to hang on a wall or prop on a shelf.
Candle Wraps
Wrap a Bit around a candle jar with a little twine or ribbon—instant cozy vibes.
Plant Pokes
Glue a Bit to a wooden skewer or craft stick and pop it into a plant pot like a little art flag.
Corkboard Clips
Pin a few Bits to a corkboard or magnet board with mini clothespins for rotating inspiration.
Clip String Garland
Hang a length of string or twine and use clips to display a rotating line-up of Bits as mini art banners.
Window or Shelf Mobiles
Attach a few Bits with thread to a branch, hoop, or stick and create a soft-hanging mobile or window décor piece.
Frame them
Mount one (or a grouping) on cardstock or fabric and pop them into a small frames for and easy, impactful display.
Basket Labels
Attach Bits to bins or baskets as creative labels (especially if you use art supplies for organizing!).
Week Eleven
Creative Check-In
These weeks reminded me that not every phase of a project has to feel thrilling. But the important part? I stayed with it. I let the work evolve. And I kept following the thread, even when I wasn’t entirely sure where it was going.
And if you’re at a point in your own project where things feel a little repetitive or a little quiet, just know: you’re not doing it wrong. You’re doing the work.
