Inside the Roben's Nest: A Peek at INKY TAPES

INKY TAPES AND TISSUE PAPER POUCHES

Ever wish you had a little drawer full of ready-to-go, handmade touches to your creative projects? Ready to pull out and add an extra special touch to your journal pages, collages, or happy mail? That’s exactly the kind of magic from this month’s Art Nest Mini inside of The Roben’s Nest!

We’re diving into one of my favorite loose, joyful, no-rules processes: Inky tapes!

We’re taking plain masking tape and giving it new life with a mix of acrylic inks, alcohol inks, and pigment powders. (Spoiler alert: it gets messy and fun!)

What I love about this technique is that there’s absolutely zero pressure. The inks do their own thing, swirling and blending in ways you can’t predict (and don’t really want to). Every piece of tape becomes its own tiny masterpiece without you even trying to control it.

We are also creating beautiful inky tissue paper and using them to make pouches.

Some days, it’s not about planning or perfecting. It’s about watching colors dance, feeling paper in your hands, and remembering why you fell in love with creating in the first place.

Take a peek at these fun projects and see what the members are creating lower in this post.
