EmbellishBits: My 100 Day Project and the Little Bits That Started It All

Back in March 2025, I started something that felt a little scary and a whole lot exciting.
A 100 Day Project.
And the focus? These tiny, stitched, clustery collage pieces I’ve been calling EmbellishBits.
They’re small enough to hold in your palm. Made from fabric, paper, and thread. And every single one is a little different — layered, textured, and full of personality.
I wanted to share the first seven days of that journey here, because looking back, those early days capture something I never want to forget: the feeling of beginning something just for the joy of it.
No rules. No perfection. No pressure to make it anything other than what it wanted to be.
EmbellishBits started as a simple idea — what if I made tiny collage clusters that could live on journal pages, tags, book covers, and anywhere else that needed a little something extra? Something stitched and layered and wonderfully imperfect.
What I didn’t expect was how much I’d fall in love with the process itself.
Each little bit became its own small world. A scrap of fabric here. A torn piece of paper there. A few stitches to hold it all together. And suddenly something that had no plan became something I couldn’t stop making.
That’s the thing about creative play — it has a way of surprising you.
