Cruise Highlights...

Dinner I know...I have been home for over a week and I still have not posted with cruise highlights and photos.  A few days ago I received the rest of the photographs from my friend Rhonda, who was the main photographer on the cruise. Of the over 600 pictures we ended up with, she probably took over 400 of them!

The other night I couldn't sleep because I kept thinking about how much fun it would be to set the photos and the few video clips we had to a movie.  I got up about 1:00AM and began working on it!  I have IMovie on my Mac and decided this would be a great way to learn the program.  The girls don't know it, but I have created an hour long movie of our trip!  If you are interested in seeing actual photos of the trip, I have created a Cruise 2007 Photo Album.

This cruise was filled with lots of activity and little rest!  Just the way I like it!  And yes, I did zip line and rappel in the rain forest of Belize!  When I got to the top of the first platform, the guide hooked me up and looked and me and said, "Are you scared?"  I told him I was and he told me that it was written all over my face!  I had the encouragement of the rest of the group behind me as I was fourth in line to go! Good plan!  Once I got going, I had a great time!

Nightone If you have never been on a cruise, then you might not be aware of all there is to do on the ship.  This ship was new to the fleet and had only been sailing for a month.  All things considered, everything was great!  Upon arrival, the first thing to do is "learn the ship" and explore!  We had a great dinner and then we headed off to 70's Night in Spinnaker's!  This is always a favorite, which was preceeded by karaoke.  This ship did have talented singers and then a few who were truly of the karaoke talent, or lack there of!  That would be me!  Yes, I did karaoke!

The first full day we were at sea.  While two of our friends were sea sick, the rest of us climbed the rock wall and participated in other cruise activities!  That evening was dress-up and photo night.  We attended a show and then it was back to karaoke and a New Year's Eve party!

Day three we woke up in Cozumel and headed off to ride ATV's through the jungle!  My friend Lisa and I had done this excursion before and loved it!  We had a great time...even when I got stuck on some rocks in the water and  my friend Rhonda got sprayed after the guide told me to "give it more gas!!"  I am on her "list" now and will have to sleep with one eye open at camp this summer, I am sure!  We all agreed this was the best day of all!!

That evening we bowled, did kakaoke again and participated in a pool deck party where we had to dress one of our new-found friends from Chicago up as Carmen Miranda!  He refused the make-up and shoes, but he looked mighty girlie in Lisa's dress!  Which, by the way I just can't look at the same anymore!

The next day we arrived in Belize and headed off to the rain forest.  We were unaware that the bus ride would be about 2 1/2 hours long "one way" and that it would include a very bumpy eight mile treck down a water logged dirt road!  The rain forest was beautiful and I was proud of myself for not chickening out!

By the end of this day, I was having trouble with my eyes!  I could not see anything that was closer than an arm's length away.  This frustrated me as I thought that the predictions were coming approach your 40th birthday and all of a sudden your eyes go bad and you need reading glasses.  I just did not expect it to happen so quickly.  That evening I noticed my eyes were quite dialated and after putting two-and-two together realized that it was a reaction to the patch I was wearing for sea sickness.  Needless to say, after about a day and a half I felt better and could see again!  That night after more karaoke and games we headed off to the Chocolate Buffet.  Yes, I had some chocolate and it was awesome!!!  Did I mention there was a state-of-the-art fitness center on board that was open 24 hours a day?  And yes, I used it!

The last day at sea we took advantage of the spa and spent the rest of the afternoon learning to country line dance and more bowling.   The last evening of the cruise was talent night and our new friend from Branson, Mo, Traci won!

The last night is always fun, but also a little sad.  You have finally gotten into a "groove" and have met a lot of people and then you have to go home. Oh, how one more day would have been...!

It was a long ride home from Miami and I slept twelve hours the first night!  I feel blssed to have been able to go on this trip and was so happy to have been able to share it with such good friends!

To our NEW friends...Art, Louis, Marissa, Traci, Clint, Fabio, Gorge, Senade, Georgianna, Magdalena, Cyndi, Joe, Juanita, Jennifer, Nicole, Barbara, Joy, James and many more...thanks for a great week!

I hope all is well with you!  Have a blessed day!
