What a week! Ronnie and I are at the Portland airport waiting to fly back to Florida. We had a wonderful time at Art & Soul this past week. We flew in on Wednesday and shopped at First Impressions rubber stamp store. Jet lag set in early due to the three hour time change. I was asleep by 6:00PM.
Thursday we taught the Imagined Lives class for a great group of ladies. I met Violet of Violets in Ventura, California. For any of you out in California it looks like I will be coming to teach there next year. Friday I took the day off and did a little shopping. Friday night we taught the Reflections Journal. This was a fun and relaxing class. I like teaching at night. Saturday night was vendor night. I must say there was a ton of wonderful artwork and other things for sale by some great artists. I bought a few collage pieces from Lesley Riley and some jewelry from Sally Jean. The theme of the event was Gypsy Soul and to tie into that there was a group of musicians playing and a belly dancer even performed!
The rest of the days we took classes and visited with the other attendees. I took a metal working class with Susan Lenar-Kazmer and a tag charm bracelet class with Keely Barham as well. It was actually done by finger weaving. It was time-consuming, but fun!
Last night a group of us went to Powell's Book Store in downtown Portland and had a delicious dinner at Jake's seafood. Minus the rude server we had, dinner was great! I found some interesting art books at Powell's that are sure to inspire!
We had a great week, but I am ready to be home. My mind is full of ideas and I am anxious to get started on some new projects.
Have a great day!
