Digging Deeper...

Today I am participating in Buried Treasure: an online, collaborative project that invites art bloggers to go into the depths of their blogs and dig for buried treasure. Each participant was asked to repost one (or more) of their favorite posts from their own blog. Please see the complete list of participants on The Altered Page blog!

Have a  blessed day!

Roben-Marie

This blog post originally appeared on August 26, 2007 and was titled: "Every Life Has a Story."  I chose this post because I really liked this journal page and how happy I was when this picture was taken.

In addition, I really like the quotes from the book I mention in this post and I wanted to share them again!

I just finished reading The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield.  This book inspired me to think about the fact that every life has a story.  Here are a couple quotes from her book to ponder:

"Human lives are not pieces of string that can be separated out from a knot of others and laid out straight.  Families are webs. Impossible to touch one part of it without setting the rest vibrating.  Impossible to understand one part without having a sense of the whole."

"A birth is not really the beginning. Our lives at the start are not really our own but only the continuation of someone else's story."

Wonderful color combination! The quote reminds me of not only the family links but the links to the blogger art world as well. Seth has really created a community with his projects.

Hi Roben,

I may check this book out when I have the time -- thanks for the inspiration. This is a side of myself that I hope to connect with more often now that I have resigned from my crazy job. I'm now working with Bob in the studio full time! Take care

Wonderful journal page. The colors, the photo, the text - all combine to make a great whole. The book quote is spectacular! What a gem. Now I must read the whole book. Thank you for reposting this entry. Jeanne in Oregon

I'm happy that you dug up this treasure for us to see ... I think your journal page is luscious (and love how happy you look, too - those captured moments always impress me so much). I like the quotes, the first one especially, too.

Hi Roben-Marie, Your journal spreads are so rich on so many levels. Rich in color, rich in meaning. This one is no exception. It is beautiful. Love you smiling face on it.

Wasn't that a wonderful book?? I hated for it to end.

Hugs!
