Yep!  Bora Bora is one of the most expensive vacation spots in the world!  I can see myself paddleboarding in those clear, beautiful waters now!

November 15, 2014 - Week 47 Challenge:  Attach a map of your state/country or the world  - document something about that map.

I approached mine a little differently.  I added a map from our summer vacation to document the best place we visited - Bainbridge Island, WA and Bloedel Reserve.

October 31, 2014 - Week 45 Challenge:  Add a tab

Visit the Art to the 5th blog for more inspiration.

I made tabs with a hand punch (shaped like a tab) and then attached to a variety of papers I like to call "page stacks."  I layered them so they will lift up so I can write on them or attach ephemera or photos.  I stiched the whole stack at the top of my page with a sewing machine.

Creating With StencilGirl...

I am so excited to have been asked by Mary Beth Shaw to create with StencilGirl stencils.  There are so many to choose from that I had a hard time selecting.  I chose Circle Play, Bubbles and Mimosa and have combined them with paper, paint and stitching while putting my creative touch to them.  The first project is a scalloped flap mail art envelope with a video tutorial. If you are new to mail art or would like to learn a host of new ideas for your own projects, I have an on-line workshop called You've Got Mail...Art! sure to inspire you on your journey.  The second project I am showing today is a journal page I created in my Documented Life Project Moleskine planner/journal.  I hope you enjoy them and find them inspiring!

Be sure to visit the Stencil Girl Blog for more details about this week's giveaways and discounts.

Have a  blessed day!

Roben-Marie

The Documented Life Project - 6/21 (Week 26)...

The Documented Life Project

June 21, 2014 - Week 26 Challenge - Add a bible verse that inspires you  - or a line from your favorite book.

Visit the Art to the 5th blog for more inspiration.

"For he will be like a tree planted by the water, That extends its roots by a stream And will not fear when the heat comes; But its leaves will be green, And it will not be anxious in a year of drought Nor cease to yield fruit." - Jeremiah 17:8

Step One: I adhered a piece of inky "under paper" to the base of my page as the first layer.  Next, I added text/bookpaper and acrylic white paint.  I finished this layer with the Bubbles Stencil and turquoise acrylic paint.

Step Two: I added scribble markes with the Sabilo Marks All Pencil and used the Chevron Stencil with pink fluorescent paint.

Step Three: I brushed on white paint, pencil marks and stamped the triangle in white from AHA Stamps.

Step Four: I stiched on part of an Art Pops™ Card and added my Bible verse and stitched to the page.  I also added some paint marks with raw umber and more triangles with white acrylic paint.

Step Five: I added white circles, more triangles and cross stamps, doodle marks, text paper and covered the pink chevron stencil marks with "Night" acrylic paint.

The Documented Life Project

June 7, 2014 - Week 24 Challenge - Use book pages or text paper.

Visit the Art to the 5th blog for more inspiration.

I used a page from an old phone book as the base of my page.  I stitched a border onto it that was cut from a GelliArts Printing Plate piece I had made.  I cut strips from the same piece and stiched those on at the bottom.  I painted another piece of paper from an old book and cut it and stitched it to the top of the page.  I scribbled around the page and then added a word art rub-on (company no longer in business).

SUPPLIES USED

GelliArts Prining Plate, sewing machine, Uhto Fude Ball Black Pen, Pentel Graph Gear 1000 Drafting Pencil, Soft Brayer, Water Brush, Amsterdam Sky Blue Light Acrylic Paint, Dina Wakley Acrylic Paints: Blackberry Violet, Lime, Turquoise, Tangerine and Golden Fluorescent Pink.

May 24, 2014 - Week 22 Challenge - Draw, paint or sketch a house.

Visit the Art to the 5th blog for more inspiration.

For this week's challenge I chose to work on a file folder flap instead of a full piece of paper.  I cut my houses from vintage handwritten letters.  I added layers of paint, doodles and marks.  I thought the fortune was perfect for this challenge.
