Clutch Play Workshop...

Just in time for the holidays comes my newest workshop called Clutch Play that is perfect for creating holiday gifts. You will create a custom fabric that will then be turned into a super cute and functional wristlet style bag and a matching journal. Give them as a set or break them up and make one of a kind, handmade artsy gifts. Grab your paints and sewing machine and I will walk you through each step of creating these colorful, whimsical gifts that spread artful good cheer.

Tap into your playful spirit in this workshop as we create a colorful painted, stamped and doodled fabric wristlet and matching journal. You will find yourself reaching for this step by step 16 video workshop again and again to create handmade gifts or your own mini art journals.  As a bonus, watch me use a Gelli Plate to create a quick and easy layered background for our custom fabric. Then you decide whether to use a Gelli Plate OR paint and stencils for your background. Using EITHER method we will create a layered artsy custom fabric for our handmade projects.

As we all love a good sale, for a very limited time, this workshop will be offered at a holiday price of $19.99 (regular price $24.99)!

Join me as we create Clutch Play!

Have a  blessed day!

Art Journaling Fun...

This is the one that ended up with lots of layers because I didn't like the way it was coming along. Ever experience that?  It is amazing what another layer of paint, paper or even washi tape can do to change things up! :)

Prima Journal Project...

The 2012 Idea Book by Prima Marketing is out and I am thrilled that three of my projects were accepted for publication.  The first project is a journal I made, inspired by my Urban Journal design.  I used one of Donna Downey's Flocked Iron-Ons as the focal point on the cover. I ironed it to an inky piece of fabric, stitched the edges and adhered it to the cover.  I added Prima Lovely Leaves and twigs to the spine to finish off the design.  If you are interested in learning more about the Urban Journal, check out my workshop HEREThis book is for sale in my Etsy Shop HERE.

Random Thoughts & Journal Progress...

•So, yesterday I was driving behind this slow moving car.  I tried to be patient but ultimately decided to pass the car and as I did I noticed that the lady driver had a book spread over her steering wheel.  Yes, she was reading a book while she was driving. Really?!

•I'm not sure about your pharmacy but at mine you just walk up to the counter to get your prescription and there is no "wait behind this sign" kind of organization.  So, just a reminder that if you are waiting for someone else to get their prescription be thoughtful enough to step back from behind that person and give them some privacy as they have to verify their address, phone number and prescription.

•I finally got started on my Romania journal this past weekend.  I have so many photos and ephemera that I had to narrow it down to a manageable collection.  I had mixed emotions as I started thumbing through the photos, missing my new friends!

Have a  blessed day!

Art journal love...

REACH art journal page - 9 x 12

Happy Saturday!

If you saw my art journal peek on Thursday, then you might recognize parts of this art journal page.  One of my favorite things to use is that wonderful, inky paper that is on my work surface.  This page was covered with inky paper and then I added some other paper scraps, doodles and painted tags.  I stamped one of the tags with a new stamp from Journal Girl and then journaled to finish the page.

Have a  blessed day!
