Cover Story Workshop Open for Registration...

Hello!

As an avid art journaler, I am often asked what I do with my journal covers?  I usually wait until I have filled my journal but there is something special about carrying around a journal that has a beautiful painted cover.  I used to work primarily on lose pages and would bind them when finished, and while I still like doing that, I have fallen in love with the Dylusions Journal by Dyan Reaveley with its perfect size and mixed media paper.  The Art to the 5th™ artists all agree this is an amazign journal and have taken the guess work out of what do to with your journal covers by creating four classes in one with Cover Story™!

Anticipation, apprehension, excitement…

A new journal equals blank pages filled with unlimited possibility, of personal challenges and of achieving new levels. It deserves a cover you can’t stop touching!

Instructors Lorraine Bell, Sandi Keene, Rae Missigman and Roben-Marie Smith share their distinct technique filled cover designs. 4 artists, 4 classes, 4+ hours of step by step video instruction on how to collage, doodle, grunge, gelli plate, sketch, paint and watercolor your way to a cover that you will love. Choose one design or collect your favorite techniques from each artist and blend them into a style all your own.

Use these designs on art journal covers, journal pages, cards and gifts. These designs are not limited to an art journal cover.  Each instructor has condensed hours of video into one hour of techniques, insights and products that make facing the blank page exhilarating.

See you at The Art5 Academy!

Have a  blessed day!

Hello!

Have you heard?  Art to the 5th™ has revealed its plans for The Documented Life Project™ 2015 and it is bold and exciting!   I am thrilled to be a part of this group of talented and inspiring artists.  Won't you join us in 2015 for this new adventure?

Have a  blessed day!

 *****

Welcome to our bold new adventure! You have amazed us with your art and courage which has inspired us to celebrate the artist within each of us with more art and more techniques. Documenting our lives this year will mean telling our stories through art and words.

We are so excited to share our vision of storytelling through color, texture and technique. Working our way through 52 prompts, we will build our confidence and fill our tool chest with elements that we will reach for over and over again.

To add to the excitement, we have gathered an amazing line up of superstars including Dyan Reaveley, Dina Wakley, Gina Lee Kim and Stephanie Ackerman to inspire us with their documenting art styles. The project is FREE and perfect for both the beginner and experienced art journaler.

Join us as we begin a transformative year filling the blank page before us…
the rest is still unwritten.

Join us on The A5 Academy Today!!

Every adventure deserves a well chosen vehicle. For our journey, we have chosen:

Dylusions Journal by Dyan Reaveley - (11.3" x 8.75”)

We love 'it’s just right size,' sturdy pages, affordability and the envelope inside to store goodies. It is available HERE. We have been in contact with Ranger and Dyan so they could prepare for us.

Note: as always you may use what journal/planner or notebook you might prefer.

Once we had our journals in our hands, we wanted to create a new OPTIONAL paid workshop, Cover Story, to share how we developed our covers into pieces of art we can’t stop touching.

Journal Bound Workshop is Live...

Showcase your gathered mail art stash within two uniquely styled and bound journals. Get those mailed treasures out of your bins and into an artful display - journal style.

Together we will travel a step by step approach to creating a colorful grungy cover in my signature messy style. Then we will bind our art-filled journals using a simple and creative system that once quickly learned can be used repeatedly to create handmade art journals from here forward.

Don’t have a mail art collection? I will demonstrate an alternative using found papers. Beginners are welcome and encouraged in this workshop as each process is fully demonstrated to accommodate all skill levels. I even include downloads of my designs for your use.

So many possibilities, so much creativity. Pack your bags, we are Journal Bound!

These projects are especially designed for any skill level. Beginners will be comfortable while advanced students can take off and make these as detailed as they desire. This class is for everyone, yes, YOU!

As we all love a good sale, for a limited time, this workshop will be offered at a special price of $24 (regular price $27)!  Sale ends Sunday, March 23 at 8:00AM EST.

For details on how to register for my workshops see details HERE!

Q: Will you show me how to use my camera, give me recommendations for the perfect camera or teach HOW to take photos?

A: No, this workshop does not cover a review of cameras or how to shoot your photos.

This workshop is about getting those photos off of your camera or cell phone and into a format that can be used to create artsy projects.  I show you how "I" do it and then we create the projects using the photos.  Lots of techniques thrown in and ideas that can be used with or without photos.

Q: Will you show me how to use photo editing software other than Photoshop?

A: No, I am going to show how I prepare my photos for printing using Photoshop on a Mac.  Once you see the basics, they can be adapted to any photo editing software.  I am sorry I can't offer assistance with other software or computers.

Clutch Play Workshop...

Just in time for the holidays comes my newest workshop called Clutch Play that is perfect for creating holiday gifts. You will create a custom fabric that will then be turned into a super cute and functional wristlet style bag and a matching journal. Give them as a set or break them up and make one of a kind, handmade artsy gifts. Grab your paints and sewing machine and I will walk you through each step of creating these colorful, whimsical gifts that spread artful good cheer.

Tap into your playful spirit in this workshop as we create a colorful painted, stamped and doodled fabric wristlet and matching journal. You will find yourself reaching for this step by step 16 video workshop again and again to create handmade gifts or your own mini art journals.  As a bonus, watch me use a Gelli Plate to create a quick and easy layered background for our custom fabric. Then you decide whether to use a Gelli Plate OR paint and stencils for your background. Using EITHER method we will create a layered artsy custom fabric for our handmade projects.

As we all love a good sale, for a very limited time, this workshop will be offered at a holiday price of $19.99 (regular price $24.99)!

Join me as we create Clutch Play!

Have a  blessed day!
