1. What do you do with the lose pages when your pages are finished?
I use a coil bound journal made by Canson and is the Montval Field All-Media Book. The pages are 9x12 and the paper is acid free, 90 lb. cold press watercolor paper. The paper takes wet media quite nicely!
Once I have finished my pages I usually put them back into the journal. This works out nicely because I can also remove the covers and paint, collage and finish them as well.
We now carry them in The Art Goods Shop.
Another thing that I have done with the pages is use them as covers for small journals. See HERE!
2. Is that white stuff paint or gesso?
It is white gesso. This is one art supply I could not live without!

Roben-Marie, watching you create is like taking a bite of rich, delicious chocolate! I just want to savor it! Thanks for making your art so available to us.
Wonderful and amazing!!! I would not have wanted to cover over the glorious background- but loved seeing how your forge ahead!! Wonderful process!!!! Beautiful results and so inspiring!!!
roben, as always i LOVE seeing your videos. i like the fact that you don't always like or know where you are going with something when you are working on something. seeing you rip off papers with the journaling on them made me smile. and, your video today was like a present. i had a birthday this week (we're not saying how many) and then yesterday i hurt my knee at work and am now laid up on the bed with my leg in a splint and off work for two weeks. i needed a good diversion from feeling sorry for myself, LOL. thanks for sharing your work with all of us.
Thanks so much for taking the time to post videos of you working. I love to watch you work and it is inspiring and fun! I love the orange color you used - so bright!
I love watching you work! Thanks so much for sharing!
Wow Roben,
Once again, you have inspired me to just dig in. I giggle watching you paint with your fingers. And I laughed when you tore off the piece of paper that you already glued down. Fun, fun, fun to watch you work. Thank you so much. And I can't wait to get my order of punchanella and ink...
Thank you!
Always love your pages and your videos. Thanks for sharing!
I'm new to your site but I love watching your videos. They're so inspiring!
One question-do you gesso your pages before you start?
Thanks,
Roben,
Do you use the loose journal pages that you tear out in other journals? So much fun to watch your videos.
Thank you.
Gayle
I am mesmerized watching you create your magical artistic papers. Your fingers flying through the ink and paint and water, writing words of inspiration and listening to jazz just couldn't get any better. Thank you for sharing your videos. Weekend bliss to you dear...
I always love to watch the process. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Roben,
I love watching your process!! I was wondering if you would show us how to dissassemble the journals and put them back together without wrecking them? Also what does the finished journal look like?
Have a great day... Mel xx
i really enjoy watching your creative process in the videos; color combinations that i would never think of and the progression of simple shapes make such a profound impact in the finished piece. just a thought: have you ever considered turning the camera upside-down so that in the final version, we can see what you are seeing as it happens?
I love your videos. It's very interesting see the process. Thank you!! Have a nice week end!! ♥
Hey Roben-Marie
Holy Moly Girl... you simply rock with your pages. I ALWAYS look forward to your 'watch the process' vids. It's like watching a free style dance performance, your hands are the stars, your pages become visual choreography. And I can't get over how easily you add and remove elements and how it all works out in the end. I will say it again. You rock and THANKS for letting us peek over your shoulder every now and again!!!!!!!
Wow I love your videos.
Your work rock.
All a great inspiration for me.
Have a lovely sunday.
Although my journaling style is so completely different from the way you create your luscious pages, I enjoy standing over your shoulder (so to speak). Your videos and your work are an inspiration! Thank you for your generosity. It's truly appreciated. Hugs, Terri
One of the things I love about your videos is seeing the whole creative process play out. I had to smile when to peeled off some of the collage elements and reworked the page. So I'm not the only one who's process takes her three steps forward and two back :-) Another terrific page and lots of inspiration
Fantastique !!!
