You know that saying...

You know that saying by Mark Twain, "Never put off until tomorrow, what you can do after tomorrow?"  Well, sometimes I take that approach with things I am afraid to do or try.  For instance, I have been wanting to make bezels for some time now.  I followed the usual procedure of purchasing the products and reading everything I could to educate myself. Still no go!  I guess I needed someone to go with me down that road.  So, this past weekend I went to see my friend Ronnie in Gainesville, Florida.  She is always open to trying new things and since we work so well together, it was the perfect time to try making bezels.

So, while I mixed the resin she watched the timer and together we proceeded to grab that "tomorrow" and give it a go! Here are some things I learned:

1. ICE Resin is very easy to use and Jen Cushman's book Explore, Create, Resinate: Mixed Media Techniques using ICE Resin® was very informative and helpful!

2. Work slowly, very slowly...did I say slowly?!

3. Have all your bezels ready to go so you can fill a bunch at one time.

I am pleased with my first go around and plan to make more.  I will show some jewelry pieces I made with the bezels soon!  I now carry ICE Resin and bezels in The Art Goods Shop!

Have a  blessed day!

Wow! Great job! I don't see see any bubbles. That's awesome for your first time. I've had my ICE resin for a year now and never used it. Same way of thinking I guess, "I'll use it one day". Going to check out Jen's book. Thanks!

Your resined bezels are wonderful. I completely agree that it often helps to have a friend who can be the catalyst in seizing the day and doing it now. Happy week to you...

Those are fabulous.

I've put off making my own bezels at home forever. Last year (Sept or so) I took two resin classes, one using regular resin, and one using Ice Resin. Students weren't allowed to mix any in either class, so I wasn't able to get a feel for it, and we were only allowed to pour our own in the Ice Resin class.

I have two cool rings, and two necklace bezels, but all were done under class instruction.

I purchased everything I needed to do my own work at home, I watched video's online, and I read.

But the instructor continually telling us that resin (any kind of resin) is 'temperamental' and 'difficult to work with' scared the heck out of me. I have yet to even open the package and it's months later. lol

I've got the basics, I just need to do it.
