Phoenix Re-Cap...

Dsc00139It was great to be in Phoenix again for the fourth year in a row at Art Unraveled.  It is nice to spend time with like-minded creative women and some men, too!

On the first day, I went shopping with my friend Maija.  We stopped at The Paper Studio in Tempe where we met up with  Silvia, Bernie and Pilar

I truly enjoyed my classes!  It was nice to be just a student for a change!  My classes with Juliana Coles truly pushed me to approach visual journaling in a different way. I was uncomfortable, but she is a master at getting her students to put aside the things they know and focus on what is really deep inside.

Kelly Kilmer is a great teacher and her classes just flow from one thing to the next.  I took two classes with her and enjoyed both of them very much!  I have not finished either project yet, but below is a scan of the cover of the journal I made in her Graffito Journal class.
45journal_2 I also took a resist class with Bernie Berlin and learned how to use embossing powders, inks, rubber stamps and a heating iron to create some great background papers.

It was also so nice to catch-up with art friends that I have not seen all year. Andrew (&rew), I enjoyed our lunch very much!  You are such an inspiration!

Thanks to Linda, Chuck and all their helpers for another great year!
